Kishor Shinde’s large paintings on canvas transformed pictorial space into a field of frenzy, composed of dense tangles in colour and an animated gestural brushwork. Their irregular topographies and fractured rhythms resisted the certainty of a fixed vantage point, drawing the viewer instead into sweeping painterly strokes and the atmospheric haze rising from industrial and domestic detritus. These urban vignettes revealed to the artist, fleeting moments of unexpected beauty, even as they conjured a vision charged with unease and latent anxiety.
